Okay, I concede that Chelsea's exit from the League Cup at the hands of Charlton was on penalties. Technically, the match itself was a draw. Fine, point accepted.

This morning's 1-0 result away at Real Betis is definitely a loss. It has finally happened.

This could set us up for a very interesting weekend. Man Utd might actually have a chance against a team that is rocking from a number of unexpected results. Depending on how things go tonight in Lille, the psychological edge might lie with Alex Feguson's men. This would not have been thinkable after last Saturday's results (Rio Ferdinand gifting 3 points to Middlesborough and Chelsea surviving a 2-2 half-time result to win by full-time). How quickly things change in football.
